FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Physiotherapy Associates and Wellbeing Centre, Newtownabbey

Some questions people ask us…
  • What problems can physiotherapy help with?

On a first visit to our physiotherapists, they will initially begin a full assessment and physical examination in order to determine the nature of your condition, as well as the cause. Following this, the impact of the condition will be continuously reviewed and regularly discussed by our team, together with the patient’s medical history to establish, in mutual agreement with the patient, which treatment is most suitable. A tailored treatment programme will then be compiled.

  • Why can we trust your practitioners?

We are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the Accupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, the Health & Care Professions Council, and Physio First.

We have a team of highly qualified physiotherapists to treat all musculoskeletal conditions and acupuncture, pilates, yoga and complementary therapy practitioners.

Our patients have been able to rely on us for a highly professional service since 1996.

  • How do I get an appointment with Physiotherapy Associates?

We welcome all enquiries from private patients and are happy to discuss how we can support your individual needs.

We have a long-standing relationship with local GP practices and many orthopaedic consultants for cross-referral and discussion in the interests of all patients.

We offer appointments each day and evening during the week, as well as Saturday mornings and some home and care home visits where needed.

We are recognised by all health insurance companies.

  • Is the practice easily accessed?

We have driveway parking and use of the adjacent church car park.

Physiotherapy Associates and Wellbeing Centre offers all treatments and therapies in a comfortable environment.

    • Four first floor treatment/ therapy/counselling  rooms
    • Fully equipped Studio for Pilates and Yoga classes
    • Toilet facilities on each floor.
  • How should I dress?

It is advised that patients wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Bear in mind that physiotherapists need to visually assess a patient regarding posture and movement, and will possibly need to move various areas of the body. These areas will need to be visible and assessable. When the treatments involve manipulation and massage the site of injury will need to be exposed.
